Established in 2001, Oakdene‘s boutique vineyard is located in Wallington (near Ocean Grove) on the Bellarine Peninsula, approximately 20kms east of Geelong and 90kms South of Melbourne. The region enjoys a cool, maritime climate moderating our weather patterns, resulting in a long cool growing season; producing low yields of high quality fruit.
Specialising in the varieties best suited to the region; Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and small amounts of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, our hand crafted wines are elegant, whilst reflecting varietal character and complexity.
Dedication to excellence in the vineyard and winery has produced immediate results, with wines awarded medals and trophies in major wine shows, and a 5 star rating in James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion for the past four years.

A 'Red 5 Star Rating' from Halliday means an 'Outstanding winery regularly producing wines of exemplary quality & typicity. Will have at least two wines rated at 94 points or above, and had a five-star rating for the previous two years'.
Bright garnet. Lifted red fruits, rhubarb and cherry. Full and fleshy mid palate, with cherry and red fruits predominating alongside some spice and floral notes, firm acidity and fine tannin on the finish. Enjoy now or over the next 2-6 years. Alc 13.3%.
Pale straw with a salmon blush. Lifted notes of stone fruit, and bright red fruit aromas, followed by brioche and toast characters. Fine persistent mousse, with obvious bready autolysis, and red fruit Pinot Noir influence, balanced by firm acidity and a long, dry finish. Crafted from 100% Pinot Noir from a vineyard in Romsey, in the Macedon Ranges, using the traditional method and aged on lees for 41 months prior to disgorgement. Enjoy chilled as an aperitif or without food. Alc 12.0%
Inspired by the red wines of Bordeaux, this vineyard blend changes to reflect each vintage and to preserve our housestyle. Merlot 47%, Cabernet Franc 40% and Cabernet Sauvignon 13%. Deep crimson in colour. Complex bouquet of red currants, tobacco leaf and cedar oak. Medium bodied palate, dominated by red and black currant notes, and a refreshing leafy edge. Balanced by a structured tannin backbone, firm acidity, and elegant, classic, bright red fruit characters. Co-fermented using wild yeast and matured in new (30%) and seasoned French oak barriques for 16 months. Enjoy now with food or cellar for 5 to 12 years. Alc 13.4%
Bright straw green, with a lifted bouquet dominated by citrus notes. A rich and luscious palate is dominated by ripe nectarines, citrus fruits and spice. Mid palate sweetness is balanced by firm acidity giving the wine overall balance. Late Harvest Riesling was pressed into stainless steel tank for fermentation at 12 degrees for 5 days, then chilled down to stop the process to retain sweetness. Great with dessert or cheeses. Drink 2015-2020. 7.5%
Pale straw in colour, with a lifted bouquet of gooseberry, guava with citrus overtones and subtle barrel ferment characters. Full and complex with restrained tropical fruits, vanilla and a mineral edge, leading to a creamy and rich mid palate, lively acidity and a long lingering after taste. Fermented and matured for 8 months in 100% French oak barriques (15% new), cellar over the next 4 years. Alc 12.7%
Pale straw with a pink tinge, displaying a lifted bouquet of nashi pear and citrus. Generous fruit weight, and mid palate richness, is supported by firm acidity, a mineral backbone and long finish. Hand harvested early to retain acidity, producing a dry fruit-driven 'Grigio' style. Best consumed young while expressing the fresh fruit driven characters of the variety.
Bright red purple in colour. Highly perfumed nose of spice, blackcurrant and blackberry notes, lifted by white pepper and sappy whole bunch characters. Medium bodied palate, with savoury red berry fruit characters, spice and delicate pepper notes. Fine chalky tannins and well-integrated French oak. Balanced acidity, and a long savoury finish. 15% whole bunches, wild yeast fermented then matured in French oak barriques (30% new) for 16 months. Enjoy now or cellar for 5 to 15 years. Alc 14.3%
Pale straw with a vibrant hue. Complex bouquet, with notes of pear, custard apple, white peach and spicy oak. Fresh and bright, with a generous mid palate weight, and a creamy texture, white peach and citrus notes balanced by taut acidity and spicy oak finish. 100% barrel fermented using wild yeast, then matured in French oak barriques (30% new) for 11 months prior to bottling. Enjoy now or cellar for 4 to 8 years. Alc 13.5%
Deep garnet in colour. Spicey and floral with lifted blackberry, cherry fruits, white pepper and clove. The palate is dominated by dark red fruits and spice (clove/white pepper) leading to a soft, medium bodied mid-palate fine tannin and balanced acidity. Drink now or over the next 2-8 years. Alc 14.5%.
Pale straw in colour. The bouquet exhibits lifted white peach, green banana and citrus notes. Full and fruity mid palate, dominated by fresh stone fruit characters, subtle oak characters, firm acidity and a long finish. Fermented in French oak barriques (10% new) then matured for 10 months. Enjoy now or cellar for 2 to 6 years. Alc 13.4%
Pale salmon with a green tinge. Lifted bouquet of spiced apple, guava and tropical fruits, with mineral overtones rounded out with barrel ferment characters. Pure crisp and vibrant with tropical fruits, vanilla and a mineral edge, leading to a savoury, dry finish, lively acidity and a long lingering after taste .Enjoy now or cellar for the next 2-4 years, to gain mid palate weight and complexity.
Pale straw with a green tinge, intense aromas of tropical fruits, lime,lemongrass and passionfruit. Fruit driven and vibrant palate of granny smith apple, passion fruit and citrus notes. This is balanced by a firm crunchy acidity and a lingering finish. Hand harvested fruit and bottled early to retain fresh fruit driven characters of the variety.
Best consumed over the next few years.
