Always an exciting time for us here at the cellar door - new releases! The 2016 vintage promised to be a good one, and we certainly wouldn’t disagree.
We are very excited to offer the latest vintage of the Oakdene Peta’s Pinot Noir (which has just won a GOLD MEDAL at the Geelong Wine Show!) from the highly regarded 2016 vintage along with what has arguably become one of the benchmark wines from our region, the Oakdene William Shiraz (yes, it's back!).

2016 OAKDENE SINGLE VINEYARD PETA’S PINOT NOIR $43
A perfumed bouquet of bright floral notes, red and black cherries and clove-like spice. The palate offers earthy cherry, dark plum notes, with spice and savoury characters. The wine has generous fruit weight, firm acidity and fine compact tannins and a long finish.
Winemaking - Hand harvested Pinot Noir was destemmed (with the inclusion of 20% whole bunches), then fermented in small open-top pots using wild yeast, then pressed to barrel for malolactic fermentation and matured in French oak barriques (30% new) for 12 months prior to bottling in February 2017. Alc 13.6%
2016 OAKDENE SINGLE VINEYARD WILLIAM SHIRAZ RRP $43
Deep bright red purple in colour. Highly perfumed nose of spice, blackcurrant and blackberry notes, lifted by white pepper and sappy whole bunch characters. Medium bodied palate, with savoury red berry fruit characters, spice and delicate pepper notes. Fine chalky tannins and well-integrated French oak. Balanced acidity, and a long savoury finish.
Winemaking - Hand harvested Shiraz was destemmed, and then fermented in small open vats using wild yeast (with the inclusion of 15% whole bunches). Pressed to barrel for malolactic fermentation, and matured in French oak barriques (30% new) for 16 months, then bottled in August 2017. Alc 14.3%
