See you again soon......

So, like everyone else around us in Victoria, we are temporarily closing our cellar door once again.  What an amazing effort by everyone in Australia, and particularly Victoria, to have done so well throughout the past year.  Fingers crossed this latest lockdown does the job and only lasts 7 days.

We are still able to send out your favourite wines, so if you didn't get a chance to visit, you can  buy online and have the wine shipped straight to your door.

Place an order with us directly HERE, or visit your local retail outlet (within your zone) who continue to support all of our small family businesses, they have been amazing!

Take care over the next few days and enjoy some time with loved ones if you can.

Thanks as always for supporting us!  We look forward to seeing you back at the Oakdene Cellar Door.

Here are our newest releases

2020 Oakdene Single Vineyard Liz's Chardonnay

Pale straw with a complex bouquet, with notes of cashew nut, white peach, and lemon citrus with barrel ferment characters.  Bright and vibrant palate, with a generous core of briny acidity and citrus crunch. Stone fruit, oatmeal and lemon curd fill the palate, with spicy French oak contributing texture and balance.  Hand harvested Chardonnay was pressed and transferred to barrel for fermentation using wild yeast. Post ferment lees stirring was conducted on a fortnightly basis. The wine underwent partial (10%) malolactic fermentation and was matured in French oak barriques (30% new) for 12 months prior to bottling in February 2021.  Enjoy now with food or cellar for 4 to 8 years.

$35 bottle / $420 case

2019 Oakdene Bellarine Peninsula Shiraz

Vibrant medium purple hue with intense aromas of dark savoury fruit, black licorice and spice.  Full, yet medium weight palate driven by red, purple, and black fruits. White pepper and exotic spice, approachable structure and persistence. Shiraz was destemmed, and then fermented in small open vats. Pressed to barrel for malolactic fermentation and matured in French oak barriques (10% new) for 11 months, then bottled in February 2020. Drink now or over the next 2 to 8 years.

$24 bottle / $288 case

90 Points (Silver), Halliday Wine Companion, Jeni Port

Special Value Wine (red star)

Destemmed, fermented in small open-top vats with cultured yeast, mlf, 11 months in French oak barriques (10% new). Forest floor, earth, briar, fennel and red/blue berries on the bouquet. Autumnal in character, it cuts a sleek figure with a taut - almost steely - tannin/acid drive that puckers the mouth. Speaks of its cool-climate home.
