There is no denying that these two varieties are popular with the wine lovers out there.  Our Pinot Noir practically walks itself out the door, and Sauvignon Blanc is such a fantastic, crisp, go-to white wine that has a place in everybody's fridge.

Both of these are excellent food wines and will pair beautifully with winter warming dishes, soups, stews and cheese platters.  So, with Autumn coming to an end, it's time to stock up for the longer nights, and think about enjoying some wines by the fire.

Both of these wines are an excellent representation of their respective varieities and have great cellaring abilities.   Get your hands on some today!

2019 Oakdene Single Vineyard Jessica Sauvignon

Pale straw with a green tinge and a lifted bouquet of lemon rind, lime and green apple with barrel fermentation restraining the herbaceous character of the fruit.  Abundant guava, mango skin, and a mineral edge, with oak adding texture to the mid palate. Crunchy acidity adding precision, focus and length.  Sauvignon Blanc was crushed and run to barrel and inoculated with yeast with fermentation taking place over 10 days. Yeast lees were stirred regularly over 8 months while maturing in French oak barriques (15% new), prior to bottling in December 2019.  Enjoy now, or cellar for the next 4 years, to gain mid palate weight and complexity.

REVIEWS

93 points, Ned Goodwin - Halliday Wine Companion 2021

'Drinking more like a Graves than a Sancerre. The barrel work, the dice of differentiation. Pink grapefruit and candied tangerine zest reel across a broad palate, flecked with curd, lanolin and pungent mineral notes. Richness and a tensile freshness all in one.'

2021 Bellarine Penisula Pinot Noir

Deep garnet with a bright hue and a perfumed bouquet of red cherry, with hints of spice and earth. Rich mid palate, with dark fruit, woody herbs and cranberry lead to abundant savoury/spicy characters. Subtle French oak and the earthy notes are balanced by fresh acidity and fine sinewy tannin firming up the finish. Hand harvested fruit was destemmed, then fermented in small open-top pots, then pressed to barrel for malolactic fermentation and matured in French oak (10% new) for 11 months prior to bottling in February 2022.  Enjoy now or over the next 2 to 6 years.
