Vintage 2021 is upon us, it's looking good......

Summer is falling in behind us now, and the evenings are cooling off in what feels like the quickest 2 months in history!  Here we are, back in the midst of harvest when it only feels like yesterday that we finished picking the the final fruit for the 2020 vintage.

Havest has come a little earlier this year, with the fruit ripening in near perfect conditions and looking magnificent for our 2021 wines.

Vineyard nets were put on, and are now nets coming off.  Pinot Gris has already been harvested, so too some Pinot noir, destined for sparkling base with Sauvignon Blanc next in line.  It is a busy time of year, but a fantastic time, as we see the promise of all the hard work in the vineyard and whats to come.

So, with excellent timing to make a bit of room in the shed, we have just released our 2019 Single Vineyard Ly Ly pinot Gris.  Perfect for warm days, summer nights and matched with Autumn salads.

Come and visit the Oakdene cellar door for a guided tasting and take home your favourites. We look forward to sharing them with you.

Ned Goodwin, Halliday Wine Companion 2021

This mid-weighted gris has been treated with as much love and care as any in the land. Oak, nicely worked into the fray, imparts textural detail, while conferring a structural authority to riffs of bitter almond, marzipan, baking spice and ripe apple. Long, pointed and intense of flavour.
