Mr Grubb Cafe is extending its opening hours over summer. Dinner will now be available from Wednesday night to Sunday night from December. Jump on board for our special Wednesday and Thursday night $13 Steak or $13 Pizza Extravaganza. We are offering a selection of two steaks served with creamy mash potato or our famous beer battered chips.
Steaks come with a mushroom & garlic or brandy & green peppercorn sauce.
New Wine Releases This Month we have two exciting new releases. The 2013 Single Vineyard Liz’s Chardonnay and the 2014 Late Harvest Riesling. Now available online and at our cellar door. Liz’s Chardonnay is a magnificent drop that the critics are raving about and so are we, definitely a wine not to be overlooked. The Late Harvest Riesling is one to complete the cellar, especially at this time of year. A lovely sticky to finish off a special meal with friends. 2013 Single Vineyard Liz’s Chardonnay “Wild yeast-fermented and matured for 11 months in new and used French barriques. Brings intensity, elegance and length first up, leaving little more to be said other than a balanced display of grapefruit, white peach and creamy/toasty oak. Drink to 2020.” “Beautifully balanced chardonnay. Complex and delicious at once. Oatmeal, steel, white peach and apple flavours with a clip of spicy oak. Right on the money. Terrific chardonnay drinking. Drink 2015 – 2019” 2015 Late Harvest Riesling
Bright straw green, with a lifted bouquet dominated by citrus notes. A rich and luscious palate is dominated by ripe nectarines, citrus fruits and spice. Mid palate sweetness is balanced by firm acidity giving the wine overall balance. Late Harvest Riesling was pressed into stainless steel tank for fermentation at 12 degrees for 5 days, then chilled down to stop the process to retain sweetness. Great with dessert or cheeses. Mrs Hocking's Garden Bar will be open on Friday nights from 6:00pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm, weather permitting. Bookings are not required.
