Appearance
Pale straw with a faint pink blush.
Bouquet
Lifted scents of spiced pear, apple blossom and white stone fruit.
Palate
Apple and pear driving the mid palate, balanced by crisp, clean acidity, a mineral backbone, and a long dry finish.
Fermentation
Hand harvested Pinot Gris was crushed and pressed into stainless steel tank. Fermented at 13 degrees C for 14 days, with lees contact post ferment for 3 months, then fined, filtered, and bottled in September 2020 to retain fresh fruit driven characters of the variety.
Conclusion
Harvested early to retain natural acidity, producing a dry, fruit driven wine, best consumed over the next few years.
RATINGS & REVIEWS
90 points, Jeni Port, Halliday Wine Companion 2022 - Another solid grigio from the Geelong region. The maritime climate does the grape proud. Easy to get to know, it boasts a light scent of Jonathan apple, spiced pear and white nectarine. Crisp, clean, lively with a hint of dusty musk to close.
