Deep cherry red in colour

Bouquet
Complex bouquet defined by red fruits, dark plum, and cedar oak.

Palate
Medium bodied palate, dominated by juicy red and black fruit notes, and a refreshing leafy edge. Fine tannin backbone, fresh acidity, and elegant, classic, cool climate red fruit characters.

Fermentation
Fruit was destemmed, crushed then soaked for 5 days prior to fermentation using wild yeast in small open vats peaking at 28 deg with 7 days maceration on skins post ferment. Pressed to barrel for malolactic fermentation, and matured in French oak barriques (30% new) for 16 months, and bottled in August 2022.

Conclusion
Drink now or cellar for 5 to 12 years.

90 Points, Philip Rich,  Halliday Wine Companion - 'A blend of 44/40/16% merlot/cabernet franc/cabernet sauvignon. Matured in French oak barriques (30% new) for 16 months. A medium crimson-cherry red. Aromas of red berries, a gentle waft of tomato leaf and a hint of cedar define this cool climate-style blend. Even better on the palate, which is supple, compact and moderately long. Just needs to flesh out a little over the next six to 12 months'.

Inspired by the red wines of Bordeaux, this vineyard blend changes to reflect each vintage and to preserve our housestyle. Merlot 63%, Cabernet Franc 23% and Cabernet Sauvignon 14%. Mid ruby in colour. Complex aromas of aromas of blood plum, lilac florals, red currant, rose water and cedar oak. Mid-weighted palate dominated by juicy red and black fruit notes and a refreshing tobacco leaf edge. Balanced by a firm but fine tannin backbone, fresh acidity, and elegant, classic, bright red fruit characters. Co-fermented using wild yeast and matured in new (30%) and seasoned French oak barriques for 16 months. Enjoy now with food or cellar for 5 to 12 years.
