2023 Pinot Grigio

Appearance
Pale straw with a bright salmon tinge.

Bouquet
Lifted bouquet of citrus, green apple and honeysuckle.

Palate
Citrus rind and apple blossom driving the mid palate, balanced by racy acidity, a mineral backbone, and a long dry finish.

Fermentation
Fruit was crushed and pressed into stainless steel tank. Fermented at 13 degrees C for 14 days, with lees contact post ferment for 3 months, then fined, filtered and bottled in June 2023 to retain fresh fruit driven characters of the variety.

Conclusion
Harvested early to retain natural acidity, producing a dry, fruit driven wine, best consumed over the next few years.

RATINGS & REVIEWS

95 Points & Special Value Red Star, Philip Rich, Halliday Wine Companion - 'Three months' lees contact in stainless steel post-ferment. A very bright green gold. With its aromas of stone fruits, ripe green apples, pear and a little spice, this is absolutely textbook stuff. Fresh and invigorating on the palate, it's flavoursome without being too much so, and the finish is salivating and dry. Good wine'.

89 points, Stuart Knox, The Real Review - 'Ultra-pale lemon yellow with a water-white rim. Pear skin, sage, and seaside aromatics. Like to medium in weight, with bright lime and pear fruits filling the core. There's a brightness to the acidity, which brings a clean and fresh appeal to the middle palate and insures it runs reasonably long to a finish that shows a tension between sweetness and phenolic grip'.
