We have been so busy here at Oakdene over the summer, that we've barely had a chance to introduce you to our newest wines!  It has been wonderful to see so many friendly faces in our cellar door, and now we have these new release wines ready to show you.

Our ever popular Bellarine Peninsula Chardonnay is back, and the 2018 Sparkling Shiraz that was released just prior to Christmas is also available.

NV Sparkling Brut

Very pale salmon, with a fine persistent bead and a bright lifted floral boquet with lemon citrus scents and green apple skin.  A delicate fruit driven style with a lively mousse. Lemon citrus and apple notes lead to subtle yeast characters with fresh acidity giving the wine overall balance, length, and freshness.  Enjoy well chilled as an aperitif with or without food.

2018 Oakdene Sparkling Shiraz

Deep garnet in colour and a bouquet exhibiting lifted red and black fruits, white pepper, and spice. The palate is dominated by rich spicy red fruits, some clove and white pepper, leading to a soft, medium bodied mid- palate fine mousse and balanced acidity. Oakdene Sparkling shiraz is a complex, dry, sparkling wine crafted from rich, spicy estate grown Shiraz made in the traditional method.  Enjoy well chilled as an aperitif with or without food.

2021 Oakdene Single Vineyard Riesling

Bright straw green with a bright lifted bouquet of lemon pulp, lime and grapefruit.  Fresh, very dry palate of citrus and mineral notes, slatey acidity adding texture and length.   Enjoy now with food or cellar over the next 4 to 10 years.

2020 Bellarine Peninsula Sauvignon Blanc

Bright straw with a green tinge and a fragrant bouquet of lime-citrus, herbs, and grassy notes.  Highly expressive palate of fresh green fruits, and citrus notes. Crisp lemony acidity offering balance and length.   Best consumed young while expressing the fresh fruit driven characters of the variety.

2020 Bellarine Peninsula Pinot Grigio

Pale straw with a faint pink blush with lifted scents of spiced pear, apple blossom and white stone fruit. Apple and pear driving the mid palate, balanced by crisp, clean acidity, a mineral backbone, and a long dry finish. Harvested early to retain natural acidity, producing a dry, fruit driven wine, best consumed over the next few years.

2021 Bellarine Peninsula Chardonnay

Straw green hue with a lifted bouquet of white stone fruit, with subtle barrel ferment notes.  Very fine palate displaying nectarine and floral notes, leading to subtle oak characters. Creamy cashew and citrusy acidity, adding length and texture.  Chardonnay was destemmed and pressed to barrel for fermentation. Then matured in French oak barriques (10% new) for 10 months, fined, filtered and bottled in November 2021.  Enjoy now or cellar for 2 to 6 years.

2020 Oakdene Late Harvest Riesling

Bright gold with a green tinge and a fresh aromatic nose reminiscent of nashi pear, talc and Granny Smith apple.  The palate is bright, succulent, and sweet, balanced by bracing acidity to give it a sherbet-like zesty finish.   Enjoy over the next 2 to 6 years with desserts and cheeses.

2019 Oakdene Single Vineyard Peta's Pinot Noir

Deep purple/garnet in colour with a lifted bouquet of stewed cherry, spice and savoury aromas.  Intense mid-palate by cherry rhubarb notes. French oak and whole bunches adding a savoury element to the wine, with clove, redcurrant, woodsmoke and twiggy notes. Amaro like acidity and ample tannin offer balance and length.   Enjoy now with food or cellar for the next 5 to 10 years.
