SKU: 2021 Peta's Pinot Noir

Pale garnet in colour.

Intense bouquet of red and blue fruits, some spice and a touch of forrest floor.

Expressive mid-palate with dark blue fruits, earth and cherry notes. The mild growing conditions expressed through firm acidity and fine edged tannin, spicy whole bunch characters and French oak offer balance and length.

Hand harvested fruit was destemmed, with 20% included as whole bunches, then with 8 – 10 days maceration on skins fermentation was started using wild yeast in a small open vat for 6 days reaching 30 degrees. The wine was pressed to barrel for malolactic fermentation and matured in 225 litre French oak barriques (30% new) for 12 months prior to bottling in February 2022.

Enjoy now with food or cellar for the next 5 to 10 years.

94 Points, James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion -  'A small percentage of whole bunches in the ferment, matured in French barriques (some new) for 12 months. Attractive wine, with good varietal expression and length, spicy cherry to the fore. Ready now'.

2022 Geelong Wine Show - Silver Medal, 92 points

2023 National Wine Show - Bronze Medal

90 points, Stuart Knox, The Real Review - 'Bright cherry red in the glass. Red currant and vegetable stock aromatics. Palate offers good concentration of red fruits with a stemmy vegetal note on entry. Acidity is finely laced, and it cleans the flow so the finish is more about the bright fruit than savoury stem notes '.
