Marty @ Oakdene invites you to dine with us for a night of indulgence as we celebrate the magic of the 2018 Australian Truffle season.

Guests will enjoy a six-course degustation, each course complimented with our award-winning Oakdene wines, featuring some current & cellared vintages. Every dish has been created with truffle as the feature, letting the ingredient speak for itself while taking diners on a delicious adventure from savoury to sweet.

We will be using freshly harvested Perigord black truffles from Manjimup in Western Australia with special guest & truffle expert Julia Edwards from Europantry. Guests can learn all about these famous rare delicacies and there will also be truffle products for sale at retail prices on the evening.

The Western Australian truffle industry is based on the French black truffle or Périgord truffle grown in association with Oak & Hazelnut trees. Once seedlings are inoculated & planted into Trufferies, production cannot begin for at least five to seven years. With a taste & aroma likened to mushrooms, these famous fungi have a pungent, intense and unique flavour, adding a new depth of flavour to each dish.

Marty and the Oakdene team have carefully created a menu featuring these delicious truffles for one exciting and unmissable night. Tickets are $150 per person including matched Oakdene wines, enjoy drinks from 6.30pm with a 7.00pm start.

Mr Grubb’s Ripper Roasts Continue in July

Enjoy alternative weeks of our Ripper Roasts at Mr Grubb for just $25 per person on Wednesday and Thursday nights throughout the entire month of July.

Roast Lamb and Sticky Toffee Pudding - Roast leg of Victorian lamb, bacon, pine nut, date and rosemary stuffing followed by sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel sauce and ice cream.

Crispy Roast Pork Belly and Rhubarb and Apple Crumble - Roast pork belly served with chunky roast potatoes, butternut roast pumpkin, roast vegetables, apple sauce and cider gravy. If that's got you licking your lips, how about finishing the meal off with a bowl of home baked rhubarb and apple crumble with vanilla custard.

"Somthing about the savoury, spicy nature of Geelong Shiraz. Shows a good shake of black pepper, whiffs of briar, ripe plum, dark cherry.
